things could be much worse but they aren’t. that’s worth smiling for.

It could always be worse but it isn’t. The ‘now’ isn’t so bad, the ‘now’ isn’t bad at all. It’s impossible to switch places with anyone else, it’s impossible to rewind time, or fast forward. We’re exactly where we’re supposed to be right now. Things are how they’re supposed to be right now. What you see is what is. It’s still okay to want or need more because ‘more’ is embedded in human nature and human history. ‘More’ is always fascinating and we’re effortlessly drawn to fascinating things. But our right now can be just as fascinating. We just need to find more ways to be where we are not just physically, but mentally. We need to fall in love with the present just like we did the future. We need to sink ourselves in what’s happening now instead of sleepwalking past it. Minutes passed are irreplaceable, what is now is now, and when it’s gone, it’s gone. So let’s enjoy it before it’s all over. Let’s entangle ourselves, twist, trip and fall, get up, then reach for the gift of joy, wrapped in contentment.
Until the next one
